About hOme
When every single day after school, rain or shine, you hurry to a meeting place where all your friends are, it means that one way or another it is somewhere you simply feel good.
It is precisely to re-create that very feeling that swiss brothers jak & Eddy Dousse agreed that one day, they too would have their own skateshop, somewhere people would not only come to buy stuff, but also because it would inspire comfort.
A name evoking this well-being was found - hOme - then a little later, jak ran up to his younger brother's room with the drawing of a house in his hand: the logo, quite literally, had "created itself".
Then, while waiting for the day this could all come true, they decided to print a series of t-shirts in order to make their future project known.
A little later, at the time of choosing their path in life, the passion for clothing had taken over and hOmeclothing was born, almost spontaneously, in the summer of 1998.
Two years later, while following their passion for snowboarding, skateboarding and graphic design, their path crossed with Steve Harris in Whistler, an inventive clothing designer. The two brothers were now three, quite the magic number.
hOmeclothing is a story about travelling in order to experience the true meaning of the place we each chose to call hOme. This story is told through clothing with a strong emphasis on graphic design.
There are parts of the story you can read, a whole bunch you can wear, but most of it you must experience - understand that is - what it is that hOme means to you.
–HOME–
Where one feels good, really good even. sometimes the place where you actually come from. Something that will always be there, in the end simply a comforting thought. however home is somewhat hard to carry around with you, home usually stays home. problem. What if you could take it with you?
–CLOTHING–
Our favourite clothes. Somewhere you definitely want to feel good, it makes the day easier really. Little pieces of ourselves that we just do not want to lose all packed up in a suitcase while we're off to sometimes strange, unfamiliar and far-away places. then when we get there, those clothes very often are the only familiar pieces of home we could take with us. they bring us comfort.
–COMPANY–
Eddy Dousse - Steve Harris - jak Dousse. Two brothers and a true friend, all part of the same family, united under the same house-like logo in which they all live, somewhere in between Switzerland, Canada and their ideas. a protected and protecting roof, which gathers common passions for snowboarding, skateboarding, stylism, graphic design and intricate details (and good cooking as well!). Add a good dose of bubbling creativity on a bed of friendships as strong as they are numerous, and you will come up with a dream come true.
